1 Day Health and Safety Awareness
Overview
This NPORS accredited course highlights potential hazards when working on site. It provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers the individuals and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
This course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training for all operatives on site.
Who should attend?
The NPORS Construction Safety Awareness Course is equivalent to the QCF Level 1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. Therefore, in addition to plant operators completing this course, labourers who have achieved the NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course can apply for the CSCS green Labourers Card. Once they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.
What you will learn
The content of this Safety Awareness Course has been updated to reflect changes in legislation and current practices. It also meets the requirements of the United Kingdom Contractors Group Health & Safety Training Standard.
By the end of this course delegates will be able to answer and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and the responsibilities of the Employer, Employee and Self-employed.
- Have a basic understanding of emergency procedures – first aid and fire, health risks and welfare, working at height, PPE
- Have a basic understanding of hazardous substances and environmental waste protection and control, manual handling, electrical safety, hand tools and equipment
- Have a basic understanding of the effects that noise, vibration, and site transport have on individuals and the environment
- Have a basic understanding of excavations, inspections, and transport safety
